\nAs I travelled rather fast these days, and as the trip enters a new stage
\ntomorrow, I’ll shortly describe what I’ve done so far.<\/address>\n

6.10. Copenhagen: Not so much. \ud83d\ude42
\nI’ve been walking around a lot. In the parks, along the sea shore.
\nThe weather was very nice so I tried to catch as much sun as possi<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
\"\"<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
9.10. Stockholm:
\nA nice train ride over the very high bridge between Copenhagen and Malm\u00f6
\nand through the very nice scenery of southern Sweden brought me to Stockholm.
\nThere I stayed the first night in the tiny flat of a friend of a friend of a friend.<\/address>\n
Her name is Sus and she is the sort of a very creative person.
\nTogether with friends she runs a trendy fashion store, doing a lot of clothes
\nherself. This evening there was a ‹clothes-cutting-apart-party› in her shop.
\nOld clothes were cut apart in small stripes to be weaven to new textiles.
\nIt’s part of a students project. So I was there that evening, cutting clothes
\nappart as well. Quite fun, with all these folks.
\nLater we had a drink in a pub. I enjoyed it so much as in Scandinavia there
\nis ‹No Smoking› in restaurants and pubs.
\nNext day Sylvia arrived and we moved to a hostel. We strolled around and
\nvisited the Vasa museum, where an original, very wellpreserved 17th century<\/address>\n
war ship is displayed.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
11.10: Mariehamn:
\nTogether we took a ferry to \u00c5land. I knew that there are thousands of Islands
\non the way from Stockholm to Turku, but I did not know, that there is a \u00c5land.
\nIt’s part of Finland, but it enjoys a huge amount of independence.
\nIt has its own stamps.
\nBut more important: It’s beautiful out there. In summer there must be loads of
\ntourists, but these days it was very quiet.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
\"\"<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
A lot of small and bigger islands, rather flat, covered with forests. Dozens
\nof bays and lakes. A sailors› paradise!
\nThe ferry to \u00c5land is very popular among Scandinavian folks. Some of them board
\nin Stockholm, drink a lot of cheap (tax free) beer, have a 30 minutes stay in
\n\u00c5land, just to take another ferry back to Stockholm. Arriving there they are
\ncompletely drunk. This makes it a nice and cheap day trip for them.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
14.10. Turku:
\nWhile Sylvia traveled back to Stockholm and then Zurich, my journey continued
\nwith another ferry to Turku in Finland. There it was foggy and wet, so I didn’t
\ndo much there.<\/address>\n
\u00a0<\/address>\n
15.10. Helsinki:<\/address>\n
I arrived in Helsinki after a 2 hours train trip. First thing I did was<\/address>\n
purchasing the ticket to St. Petersburg.<\/address>\n
Again I strolled around in the city, bought new hiking shoes, as the ones<\/address>\n
I was bringing with me were falling apart (which I didn’t notice back in Zurich).<\/address>\n
Today I visited an island offshore Helsinki, where the Swedes had built a<\/address>\n
huge fortress, to defend against the Russians.<\/address>\n
These 11 days are a short period, but as I’ve passed so many places, it seems
\nto me as it was much longer already.<\/address>\n
Tomorrow morning I’ll catch the train to St. Petersburg and this excites me very much.<\/address>\n
